DECORAH, Iowa – A Waterloo man accused of attacking two people is pleading not guilty.
49-year-old Bruce Charles Hanson is charged with willful injury causing bodily injury and four counts of assault causing bodily injury. He was arrested on November 17 after allegedly getting into a fight with a woman and another man at 1680 260th Street in Decorah.
Law enforcement says Hanson stabbed the man in the side and the shoulder with a 3’’ knife. The male victim also suffered knife wounds in the area of his hands. The woman reportedly had a very swollen and bruised eye. Court documents say Hanson had a red eye and blood on him but no other visible injuries.
All three people allegedly acknowledged the altercation but would not finish written statements and, according to law enforcement, “seemed unwilling to provide complete details on the incident.”
No trial date has been set for Hanson.
