MARION TOWNSHIP, Minn. – Olmsted County sheriff’s deputies say a man who was near death during a heroin overdose was saved by Narcan, an opiate antidote.
Authorities responded before 3 a.m. Tuesday to the 6700 block of Meadowbrook Street SE. They found a 48-year-old man who apparently overdosed on the drug.
Deputies say the Sheriff’s Office has had the antidote since September, but this is the first time it worked on someone who overdosed. The man was responsive and taken to the hospital.
