MASON CITY, Iowa – Many stores participated in Black Friday deals. To avoid long lines and a crowd, some people waited until the afternoon to start shopping.
“I’ve done it in the morning, it’s like super long, super time consuming,” said Izaiah Green of Mason City. “I’m not trying to really put up with all that mess.”
Green said he decided to wait until the afternoon, when the store wasn’t busy, to look for clothes.
“I found a bunch of good crew necks and sweaters that were really cheap,” said Green. “A good five bucks.”
Green said the perk of shopping early is first dibs, but checking out what deals are left during the afternoon is much easier than getting to a store when the doors first open.
“It wasn’t too busy [during the afternoon],” said Green. “It was a lot of people, but it could be a lot worse.”
