CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – With the turkey cleared off the table, and as pies turn into crumbs many people switch their mindset from eating, to decorating for the next holiday.
Kragel’s Christmas Trees and Traditions Christmas tree farm doesn’t officially open until Saturday but people were already stopping by Friday to take their pick of the crop. Owner Mark Kragel says this weekend will be very busy, but next weekend usually sees the most traffic because some are still out of town right now. However, he’s excited to get into the full swing of the season.
“It’s always a fun time for us,” Kragel said. “It’s a lot of work, but we have a good time and a lot of people we don’t see but once a year and that’s when they come out here and get a tree so it special for them and special for us.”
Kragel’s is open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They have a wide selection of firs, pines and spruces.
