UPDATE: Authorities say 22-year-old Griselda Castaneda Tello of Hampton died when her car was struck by 59-year-old Paul Wood of Manly, when Wood’s car crossed the center line. Wood was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa with minor injuries. 58-year Jacqueline Sickels of Sheffield was in the third car that struck debris. Sickels was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa as well for treatment.
ROCKWELL, Iowa – One person has died after a head on collision crash in north Iowa. According to law enforcement on scene, it happened at 7:35 p.m. on Highway 65 north of Rockwell.
Two vehicles collided head on, killing the driver of one of the cars. A third car hit a piece of debris and spun out. The two other drivers were taken to the hospital for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 65 between 190th and 200th street is shut down as the investigation and clean up continues.
Rockwell fire, Mason City ambulance, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol all responded.
