CERRO GORDO CO., Iowa – A North Iowa man is facing charges after officials say he ran away during an attempted traffic stop.
Cerro Gordo County deputies responded around 5:30 Thursday morning to a report of a man driving through yards. Officials found 27-year-old Jared Hill near Portland. When they tried to pull him over on the Avenue of the Saints, police say he resisted them. Hill later pulled over near the exit for Highway 65, and got out of his car and fled on foot. He jumped over a barbed wire fence before being tased by a Mason City police officer.
Hill is being charged with eluding law enforcement, interference with official acts, failure to obey a traffic control device and speeding. He’s being held on a $5,000 bond.
