ALBERT LEA, Minn.- If shopping on Black Friday isn’t your thing there’s another deal you may want to take advantage of in our area today.
Many folks are at Myre-Big Island State Park enjoying free admission day.
Gov. Mark Dayton and the Minnesota DNR have declared today free park today. Entrance fees to all 76 state parks have been waived.
The goal is to encourage Minnesotans to spend time outdoors with family and friends.
“I’m out here because I enjoy nature,” said Travis Moffitt of Albert Lea. “It helps me relax when I’m having a hard time.”
With Thanksgiving being yesterday park rangers say this is a great opportunity for families to come out and enjoy each other’s company while enjoying nature as well.
