ALBERT LEA, Minn. – Northbridge Mall in Albert Lea is hosting the Annual Festival of Trees again this year.
The theme of 2016 is “Home for Christmas.”
The event was open to the public, giving folks a chance to see more than 40 Christmas trees decorated in different lights and themes.
For one designer, the theme presented a chance to use items from her childhood.
“We had the sleigh and then and that’s been in our family, the Steeler family, which was probably about 100 years it has been, so we’ve had it a long time. The last time it was used was in 1964 on Christmas Day and we went for a sleigh ride through the town and it was wonderful,” says Diane Westland.
The Festival of Trees will run through Dec. 24 and volunteers are wanted.
