Three crashes in southern Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Three separate auto accidents injured six people Saturday morning in southern Minnesota.

The first happened on southbound Interstate 35 in Freeborn County around 7:29 am.  49-year-old Manraj Bhupram of St. Paul was driving an SUV when it went out of control on the icy road north of Geneva, went into the ditch and rolled.  Bhupram and a passenger, 45-year-old William A. Neaville of Dallas, Texas, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The second occurred on Highway 16 in Fillmore County at about 7:46 am.  71-year-old John J. Evans of Dodge Center was driving a pickup truck that rear ended the pickup truck driven by 47-year-old Thomas M. Karlowski of Mondovi, Wisconsin.  The crash west of Spring Valley left both men with non-life threatening injuries.  The Minnesota State Patrol says the road was icy at the time of the accident.

And at 8:58 am on Highway 52 in Goodhue County, 19-year-old Zainab M. Ahmed of Rochester was driving south when he ran off the road near mile marker 70 and struck the guard rail.  Ahmed and a passenger, 16-year-old Warda H. Ahmen, also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
