WRIGHT COUNTY, Iowa – A Fort Dodge man has died from apparent exposure and hypothermia.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 55-year-old Kevin Simons was pulled from Big Wall Lake in Wright County on Thanksgiving Day. A call of a man in distress came in around 4:30 pm and Simmons was found face down in about 2 ½ feet of water, roughly 200 yards from shore.
Simons was treated at the scene but later passed away at a hospital.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office and the Wright County Conservation Board responded to this incident.
