Authorities investigating fatal crash near Pemberton

BLUE EARTH CO., Minn. – The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that happened early Monday morning at the intersection of County Road 10 and County Road 14, west of Pemberton.

According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, it happened around 1 a.m. A 2001 Ford Taurus, driven by 21-year-old Jasmine Newman-Evans, of Clarks Grove, crashed with a 2012 Ford F550 Super Duty tow truck, driven by 22-year-old Nicholas Peterson, of Lake Mills.  David Neely, 24, of Albert Lea, was a passenger in the Ford Taurus. Both Newman-Evans and Neely were pronounced dead at the scene.

Peterson was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato by Gold Cross Ambulance.

Pemberton Fire also assisted at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
