MASON CITY, Iowa – A man has to stay out of trouble for a year because of some stolen property.

25-year-old Jacob Raymond Shafer received a deferred judgment Thursday for 2nd degree theft.  He was arrested June 3 after Mason City police found two stolen bicycles, bicycle parts and an iPad in the search of a 6th Street residence.

Shafter has been given one year of supervised probation and if he meets all of its requirements, this judgment against him will be removed from his record.
