Mason City’s Matt Meyer was nominated Wednesday to the prestigious Good Works Team for his community service achievement.
Meyer stands out from his peers for his remarkable community service accomplishments, including:
- Accompanying a team from the STEMM Organization to Tanzania for a 10-day service trip, where he helped provide medical attention and perform surgeries for young patients in need of care
- Volunteering as a Patient Ambassador at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Serving his community of Mason City, Iowa through volunteering at a local surgery center and nursing home
From this year’s all-time high 181 nominees, a final roster of 10 award recipients – five players from the Division I level and five players from Divisions II, III and the NAIA – will be announced in February.
