MASON CITY, Iowa – The newest at-large city councilman in Mason City is going to be Paul Adams.
He won a runoff election Tuesday against Andy O’Brien, garnering nearly 71 percent of the vote.
Adams received a total of 2,051 votes while O’Brien was the selection on 847 ballots. They made it to the runoff by being the top two candidates in a September special election to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Alex Kuhn.
“I want to work together,” Adams says. “The main goal is to move the city forward and continue to work together and just get back to representing the people as a whole.”
