PRESTON, Minn. – The case of the missing tubers has ended in Fillmore County.
25-year-old Jessi Lynn Kominek of Austin has been sentenced to 24 days in jail, with credit for 4 days already served, given two years of supervised probation and ordered to pay $500 in restitution. She entered a guilty plea to one count of theft and got a stay of adjudication. That means if she completes her probation, her conviction will be wiped from her record.
Kominek and Joshua Allen Vlasaty were arrested in June after they were reported missing while going tubing on the Root River. Authorities say the two actually stole an SUV from a garage near Lanesboro.
Vlasaty was convicted on one count of theft. He got 21 months in prison and must also pay $500 in restitution.
