2 facing charges after drug deal, robbery in Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Two teens were arrested Tuesday night after a reported drug deal turned robbery.

Rochester police say around 9:30 p.m., a 22-year-old woman reported being robbed on North Broadway Avenue by two men she had planned to sell marijuana to.

The two men reportedly took 50 grams of the drug, got into their car and left. An officer later spotted them and arrested Vanterll Ingram-Riggs and Kyle Cappard, both 19 and from St. Paul. The vehicle they were found in was reported stolen out of the Twin Cities area.


Ingram-Riggs faces charges of possession of stolen property, and Cappard faces charges of fifth-degree controlled substance possession, felony theft from a person and a gross misdemeanor weapons charge because of the loaded handgun found in the stolen vehicle.
