FLOYD, Iowa – The new Love’s travel stop in Floyd opened for business on Thursday morning, adding about 50 jobs to Floyd County.
The location at U.S. Highway 18/218 and Monroe Street will be open 24/7, offering gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift items, Subway, Godfather’s Pizza Express and more. There are also 80 truck-parking spaces and five showers.
“With its location along two of Iowa’s busier highways and its position between Mason City and Waterloo, Floyd is an ideal spot for a travel stop,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s. “We’ll be able to serve members of the Floyd community as well as professional drivers and leisure travelers with the ‘Clean Places, Friendly Faces’ Love’s is known for.”
Love’s is celebrating the opening by donating $1,000 to the Charles City Civic Foundation’s Holiday Cheer fundraiser, which raises money to provide Christmas gifts for local families in need. Love’s is also donating $1,000 to Toys for Tots in Floyd County. The donations will be presented at a ribbon cutting at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Floyd is Love’s sixth Iowa location.
