ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public has come through to secure a $100,000 grant to the Rochester Area Family YMCA.

The Otto Bremer Trust announced in February that it was giving $50,000 up front to the Y, with a second $50,000 available if it was matched by contributions from the community.  The YMCA says they have now raised that match and received the full grant.

This money will be used for several key projects, such as a $25,000 upgrade to the HVAC system at the Y, $15,000 for information technology upgrades and $60,000 for general maintenance and fitness equipment repairs.

“We know these are just temporary solutions for an aging building,” says Ann Beatty, Board Chair, “but we are confident that we are investing the matching gift from Otto Bremer Trust in the most responsible and astute manner as Y leadership continues to vision for the future.”
