CHARLES CITY, Iowa – A late November traffic stop in Floyd County turned up multiple handguns.

On November 27, the Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for speeding on the Avenue of the Saints, one mile west of Floyd.  A deputy said he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and a search was conducted.

The driver, 20-year-old Najwa Wilson of Brookings, SD, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to have a valid driver’s license.

The handguns have been sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s lab for fingerprint and ballistic testing.
