ROCHESTER, Minn. – Stabbing his roommate is sending a Stewartville man to prison.
27-year-old Joseph Michael Dahl was sentenced Thursday in Olmsted County District Court to 74 months behind bars, with credit for 640 days already served. He was arrested in December, 2014, after stabbing his roommate over an argument about Dahl’s relationship with the roommate’s daughter.
Dahl pleaded guilty to 1st degree assault and charges of 1st and 2nd degree attempted murder and terroristic threats were dismissed.
Dahl’s prosecution had been delayed until he was found competent to stand trial.
