ALBERT LEA, Minn.- Many red kettles can be found around town thanks to the Salvation Army. During their annual fundraiser, folks brave the cold to raise money.
On Saturday, they will be around town from 8 A.M. until 8 P.M. All the money that is raised will be matched up to $30,000 because 6 businesses from around town said they will donate $5,000.
“Not only do we support people physically, but if there is any spiritual need or other things that they need to talk to us we’re here,” said Major Elise Cline, Albert Lea Salvation Army. “That’s what makes the world a better place and we wouldn’t be able to do this without the support from these businesses.
The kettles will be at a couple places around town. Some of those spots include Hy-Vee, Walmart and the Marketplace. Normal donations to the Salvation Army in Albert Lea will also be matched up to $30,000.
