FOREST CITY, Iowa – State officials have recognized communities throughout Iowa that will soon be able to build new projects.
Governor Terry Branstad, Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds and the Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority announced five industrial sites have achieved certification.
Forest City was one of those sites for their Industrial Rail Road Park.
Beth Bilyeu, the Executive Director of the Forest City Economic Development, says none of this would be possible without the help of their partnerships.
“Forest City has had a history of partnerships for developing the things that we need. We like to work with outside companies but in a rural area that isn’t always the choice that we have in front of us and so we’ve had partnerships with the city, the school system, with Waldorf University and several many other businesses in our area,” says Bilyeu.
Other communities noted were Clinton, Grinnell, Waterloo and Osage.
