CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A federal drug conviction is sending a North Iowa man to prison for a long time.
27-year-old Mark Allen Ackley Jr. of Mason City was sentenced Monday to 121 months behind bars, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Ackley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine for activities that began in 2014 and ended in October, 2015.
Ackley was one of 19 people arrested during a drug sweep in December, 2015, by the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force. A state drug charge against him was dismissed to make way for his federal prosecution.
