MASON CITY, Iowa- You may have heard sirens heading to the IOOF Home and Community Therapy Center Monday, but don’t worry. That was just Santa Claus.
Santa and his wife rode on the Mason City Fire Department’s new 6×6 Ranger that was donated from Grand Lodge of Iowa, which owns the nursing home.
Grand Lodge of Iowa deputy grand master Scott Helgeson said it’s the fire department’s way to thank them for the donation with some holiday spirit.
“[We’re] trying to help out the communities where our lodges are and we’re trying to gain more people into our lodges and help the communities they serve,” said Helgeson.
Helgeson said the ranger cost approximately $22,000.
