Levi Ismail joined KIMT News 3 in February 2013. Levi grew up in Anoka, Minnesota and was born in Cairo, Egypt.
He attended the University of St. Thomas where he majored in Communication and Journalism. While at UST, he anchored and reported for the then St. Thomas Campus Scope, now Tommie Media. Levi was also President of the campus performance arts group PULSE and played wide receiver for 4 years for the MIAC champion Tommie Football team. Levi is also a ThreeSixty Journalism graduate. A University of St. Thomas program designed to bring young, diverse voices to the world of journalism. After school, Levi interned for North Metro TV in Blaine, Minnesota, where he worked as a multi-media journalist and fill-in anchor for their weekly news show.
Levi is a big fan of sports and music, and if he’s not watching or playing a sport you’ll probably see him with headphones on. A big Minnesota sports fan, Levi loves his Vikings, Twins and Wild no matter how poorly they might do at times. Levi loves to spend time with family. Given the opportunity he would love to visit his family’s home of South Sudan some day and learn more about his relatives.
Levi is really excited to be a part of the KIMT news team and is looking forward to meeting so many new people.
