MASON CITY, IA – As the weather warms, you can guarantee more people will be active and looking for a change. With all that activity, comes more “for sale” and “for rent” signs that pop up in yards and in front of apartment buildings.
If you’re one of those looking for a new place to rent, there’s an easy way to make sure you have all the properties right in front of you, in one spot.
The Iowa Finance authority rolled out http://www.iowahousingsearch.org at the beginning of the year.
The best part? It’s all free.
Landlords can list units on the site and get detailed figures on how many times their listings are clicked on. While renters have a very specific criteria they can fill out to filter out the best choices for them.
Iowahousingsearch.org is also a great tool for the disabled as an entire search criteria applies to them and their needs.
The Iowa Finance Authority held an informational meeting today to encourage landlords to list their properties.
“It’s the first time in Iowa where you have a state-wide, one place to go, to look for all the rental units that are posted in Iowa and that’s what we’re trying to do is to get everyone to post so that it becomes a very usable website,” says Dave Jamison, Executive Director with Iowa Finance Authority.
And when he says get everyone to post, he’s referring to the 330,000 rental units in Iowa.
So far 31,000 listings are on the website.
